I'm not sure what the passage of time is supposed to mean. ![]() The other night I lay my head to rest on waves again, to watch the stars as they moved over me and I stilled beside a flower that could not survive on salt water, and three stars told me a story. ζ Alnitak, ε Alnilam, and δ Mintaka. They were bought to the sky by Orion and stood watch over the expanse as homage to his father Poseidon and the memory of the son that could walk on waves. They told me of falling with him to Scorpio, sent after him by mother earth when he threatened to kill all the beasts on land, only to gain a position in the sky from Zeus for his previous hunts. And I felt love for them as they sat up in the sky pointing the way to the other constellations, some of the brightest stars in the sky. Recognizable, tangible, reassuring. And so I asked them with all that greatness why do they weep tonight and they told me that the sky was falling. ( For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream ) Evolutionary allowances as to the extent of tragedy. ![]() ( Length ensures you'll most likely only skim. ) Guil: If this is our destiny, then that was his, and if there are no explanations for us, let there be none for him. ((R&G)) End. Scene. ((The Real Thing is actually a work by Tom Stoppard. But as with Eurydice is here written as being written by Nicki)) Collected Letters.
The letters are sent at various times in the last two years and are not the only texts some of the recipients received. All were return addressed from various port cities. On the bottom edge of the backside of each letter is a series of numbers corresponding to his satellite phone on the boat. None have an explanation for the numbers. They are often mixed in with other notes or scribbling. |
